The name

Edition of One

In the print studio, an edition is every impression pulled from one plate, numbered in pencil in the margin: 7/50, 8/50. An edition of one is pulled once and marked 1/1. No one else holds a copy.

At the newspaper, an edition is the paper of the hour: the morning edition, the late edition.

Ours is both. A paper written once, for one reader.

This edition is limited to one copy,
of which this is number one.
